Pocket Park Refreshed, Thanks to UV Rugby Friends!

Pocket Park is looking fine. And our rugby teammates worked overtime.

Edges are sharp and the curves are divine.

The worrisome weeds were run outta town, Thank goodness just in the nick of time.

Compost is in and the mulch is down, the aroma of wood is all over town.

Picnic tables need some stain and repair , But with the star Rec Team we won’t despair.

Branches are trimmed, the leaves are raked, And the weather was lovely so we didn’t get baked.

THANKS TO CINDY HEATH AND UV RUGBY FRIENDS, THE POCKET PARK LOOKS GREAT!

Pocket Park Hellebores!

It was a surprise to come upon these hellebores in the Pocket Park by the MRG tunnel. Hellebores offer a valuable food source for insects, including bees and flies, particularly during early spring when other plants have not yet bloomed, .The downward-facing nature of many hellebore flowers offers protection to the pollen from winter rains and shelter for the insect while it feeds,

Thanks UV Rugby Club!

Thanks to the members of the Upper Valley Rugby Club who showed up to mulch and weed in the MRG Pocket Park by the tunnel. We appreciate your good energy and the Pocket Park and the blueberries look great!

Well, hello there!

Love this little painted rock that someone has placed in the entryway garden in the MRG Pocket Park by the tunnel!

Finishing Touches on Girl Scout Community Service Project

These Girl Scouts from Troop 10659 were putting the finishing touches on the planter cubes by the MRG Pocket Park near the tunnel. It has been wonderful to see the continuing community spirit that is developing and enlivening the MRG!

A Sunny 4th of July!

Lots of bikers, runners, dog walkers, and strollers out on the MRG today. This family found welcomed shade in the Pocket Park by the tunnel . . . and honestly, the baby had a big smile one second before!

Thank You Upper Valley Rugby Volunteers!

“Members of the Upper Valley Rugby Club complete the season at the MRG Pocket Park with mulching, raking, and general clean up. The UVRC has adopted the Pocket Park and its members are becoming quite knowledgeable about planting, fertilizing, mulching, and general plant maintenance. We couldn’t do it without them!” – Cindy Heath

Picnic in the Pocket Park

IMG_2944

Loved spotting these picnickers in the pocket park this evening. They rode the MRG to the park, with Mom on her bike and her son on his John Deere tractor. Fun watching him drive his vehicle back and forth until he had it parked just right!
